When and where is this program offered?

Respite care is currently offered on Tuesdays from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Bud O’Shieles Community Center, 1330 Band Rd, Rosenberg, TX 77471. FBS is looking to expand these hours in the future. Registration is required and this is a free service.

Who is this program for?

The program is designed for Seniors in early to mid-stages of Dementia or Alzheimer’s who want to socialize in a comfortable environment. Participants must be mobile, and able to communicate with our staff. Seniors with incontinence issues, serious aggression or wandering are not appropriate for this program.

Our focus is on giving loved ones and caregivers their time back, providing caregivers an opportunity to have a break, rest, or  run errands. Caregivers will have peace of mind knowing that they are leaving their loved ones in the hands of trained volunteers and staff, who will be actively engaged with them in fun activities the whole time. Lunch will be served during the program.

What activities will be provided to my loved one?

A typical day will consist of different activities including:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Music
  • Games
  • Exercises
  • Hot lunch with other seniors in the program
